The Black Sea Horizon webinars on Horizon 2020 is a unique opportunity to hear about new calls and rules for 2018-2020. The Black Sea Horizon webinar on ‘Legal and financial aspects of Horizon 2020’ (17 November 2017 at 10 am CET)
Financial and legal aspects of participation in H2020 is the topic most frequently asked by stakeholders as training subject. One of the barriers during proposal preparation and effective project management is the lack of knowledge in reference to legal and administrative obligations of grant agreement and consortium agreement.
Coordinated call for multilateral projects 2017 is open under BRICS STI Framework Programme
Coordinated call for BRICS multilateral projects 2017 is open until 28th November 2017. Project consortia consisting of partners from at least three of the BRICS countries can apply. Thematic areas of the call include:
- Prevention and monitoring of natural disasters;
- Water resources and pollution treatment;
- New and renewable energy, and energy efficiency;
- Biotechnology and biomedicine including human health and neuroscience;
- Information technologies and high performance computing;
- Material science including nanotechnology.
BSH Grant Scheme to facilitate the participation of Black Sea countries in brokerage events and project preparatory meetings – 3rd CALL IS OPEN
This grant scheme, carried out in the framework of Black Sea Horizon project (funded by Horizon 2020), financially supports the participation of local researchers from Black Sea countries in brokerage events and project preparatory meetings related to Horizon 2020 in the EU Member States or Associated Countries. Such events will allow researchers to network with EU consortia, to build up partnerships for subsequent joint research activities and to make their institutions and/or their research networks better known.

Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation announced sixth open call for grants of the Government of the Russian Federation for state support of scientific research conducted under the auspices of leading scientists in Russian educational institutions of higher education, scientific institutions subordinate to the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations, and state scientific centers of the Russian Federation.
ERA.Net RUS Plus Call 2017 for Science & Technology Projects open: 2 May 2017 - 4 July 2017 (15:00 CEST)
Cooperation in innovation, research and development is a key dimension in the relations between the European Union and Russia. In this context ERA.Net RUS Plus has implemented a Joint Call for transnational and scientifically excellent research projects in two funding lines: one for 'Innovation projects', and one for 'S&T projects' between 2014 and 2016. The second call round, the ‘ERA.Net RUS Plus Call 2017’, will continue the support of ‘S&T projects’ in the fields of Nanotechnologies, Health, Environment/Climate Change, Social Sciences & Humanities and Robotics as well as the support of ‘Innovation projects’.

Call for Entries: Olga Radzyner Award 2016 for scientific work on European Economic Integration
The Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) has a long tradition of supporting science and academic research. In this spirit, the OeNB has introduced the Olga Radzyner Award, which is bestowed on excellent young economists from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe in commemoration of Olga Radzyner, former Head of the OeNB’s Foreign Research Division. This year, the award is to be conferred for the 17th time and will be presented in late autumn 2016 at the Global Economy Lecture in Vienna.
Work submitted for the Olga Radzyner Award should be in the form of a working paper or a scientific article and should focus on European economic integration. Four applicants younger than 35 years are to receive a single payment of EUR 3,000 each.
Entries for the 2016 award must arrive by September 16, 2016 , at the latest. Together with their submissions, applicants must provide copies of their birth or citizenship certificates and a brief CV.
