Researcher Careers and Mobility - Irish Presidency Conference in Dublin (Ireland) on 14-15 May 2013

The conference Researcher Careers and Mobility, which will be held in Dublin  on 14th and 15th May 2013 under the auspices of the Irish Presidency, will be an opportunity to gauge progress in achieving the objectives of the European Research Area with respect to researchers. The objective of the conference is to advance the objectives of the Innovation Union and the European Research Area, focusing on the well-recognised barriers to mobility and career development of researchers.

A key conference on Researcher Careers and Mobility will be held in Dublin Castle on 14th and 15th May 2013 under the auspices of the Irish Presidency.

The event, under the Irish Presidency, is a close collaboration between the Irish Universities Association (IUA), the Department of Jobs Enterprise & Innovation (DJEI) and the European Commission.

This will be an opportunity to gauge progress in achieving the objectives of the European Research Area with respect to researchers. The objective of the conference is to advance the objectives of the Innovation Union and the European Research Area, focusing on the well-recognised barriers to mobility and career development of researchers.

The topics that will be discussed include:

1) Open Recruitment as a pathway to Excellence.
2) Career Development and Training for Researchers at all stages of their careers.
3) Mobility of People and Money.
4) Social security and pensions – addressing the barriers for researchers.

The conference will be attractive to a wide range of stakeholders from researchers to policy makers. Speakers will include international experts on the various themes crossing the divide between the public and private sector. The Organizers look forward to the active participation of delegates in supporting the drive for a Europe that is truly a single market for researchers.
