9-10 December 2010. Conference on "Marie Curie Actions for an Innovative Europe"

Brussels

Сonference on "Marie Curie Actions for an Innovative Europe" was held on 9-10 December, 2010 in Brussels.

Participants of the conference, including MEPs, policy makers, stakeholders and fellow scientists, discussed some of the recent outstanding research carried out by Marie Curie fellows in the areas of cancer, cardiology, fertility, climate change, renewable energy, art conservation, safety of transport infrastructure and others, as well as how the programme should evolve in the years to come and how it can contribute to the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy.

The Marie Curie Actions programme is part of the EU's Framework Programmes. By supporting the mobility of researchers across a wide range of disciplines, both in industry and academia, the Marie Curie Actions contribute to the European Union's objective to create a strong labour market for highly-skilled, creative and entrepreneurial researchers. The number of researchers funded by the European Commission's Marie Curie Actions since the programme's 1996 launch has just reached 50.000.
